As I visited with someone very close to me today, she shared some very heartbreaking news that was going on in her life. It has been on my heart to pray for her all throughout my day since our phone call ended. As I was reflecting on our conversation, I kept thinking of her being concerned about what she had done to deserve what was happening to her as if she were being punished.
God does teach us lessons and He is in the business of setting us straight when we stray from His path. But our Heavenly Father is not in the business of giving us what we deserve. Sometimes it is too easy to forget that we are all filthy sinners and do not deserve the love and attention He gives us. We do not deserve the gift of salvation. We do not deserve His mercy or His GRACE.
What we deserve is punishment. What we deserve is death. Thank God He is in the business of GRACE. He forgives us for all of our sins even though we don’t deserve it. So even though I cannot comfort her by telling her what God’s reasons are for allowing this misfortune, I can clear up one thing and that is that God does not give us what we deserve. He does exactly the opposite; He gives us grace.
Romans 5:1-5
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

God is Faithfull
I’ve been wanting to post a blog sharing the excitement of what the Lord has done for me lately. Each time I sit down to write about it, I conclude that I cannot put into words the joy and gratitude I am filled with and choose to wait until I can better describe it so as to give God justice in what He’s done. The more time has passed I’ve decided, I cannot do God justice regardless of the situation but I must share what He has done in my life. Just know that the joy in my heart is so beyond words that you are not even receiving an ounce . The Lord had put it on my heart around 2 years ago to be a full time homemaker. It seemed impossible but I knew it was God’s will. I prayed consistently and persistently for that opportunity to be made available to my family.
God drew me closer to Him teaching me patience, endurance, trust, and so much more on this journey. I thank God that He did not just snap His fingers and make me a homemaker. He, in His infinite wisdom used the time to train me and mold me for this calling. He has increased my faith in Him and my love for Him. He has taught me about servant-hood and the joy and peace we receive from surrendering everything to Him. I have learned that I am to serve wherever I am because I’m never there by accident. I have also learned that it is not a sacrifice to serve God. It is a reward. God is FAITHFULL.
If God puts something on your heart; trust Him, wait on Him, pray to Him, listen for Him, look to Him and BELIEVE in Him because He is faithful and He will provide. God has rewarded my faithfulness and has brought me into my home to serve Him. I have never had any greater joy than knowing I am fulfilling God’s purpose for me. I am basking in His glory each day as I watch my son play and tend to the home and family the Lord has so graciously provided. I thank you for all of your prayers and hope that this testimony inspires you to seek out God’s purpose for you.
