What Keeps Your Flame Burning Bright?

I would like to try and get back to blogging for Christ. This was a very productive worship practice for me and I’ve missed it. I’ve been adjusting to many wonderful changes in my life and now feel I’m in a position where I can be useful in this way for my Lord again.

It will require a lot of note taking in my studies so that my computer time can be minimal. My two little ones are very demanding of my time and I LOVE to give it to them. I also enjoy sewing and keeping a clean home and baking and yes I really do enjoy all of those things including cleaning. This is a trial for me because I have to make sure my responsibilities as a homemaker are fulfilled before I can commit to this blog.

Mostly, it will require my dedicated studying which I’ve been lacking until recently. This blog has the tendency to keep me accountable and when I’m enjoying regular fellowship even on the computer, it helps keep me in prayer and connected to God. So your prayers for this blog are appreciated.

What keeps you connected (more than just a “church goer”)? How do you keep that fire lit? My flame flickered low for a while. I served and loved the Lord but did not pray as much and did not have the same yearning for God’s word as I once had. As a homeschooling mom with a 3 year old and new baby I learned I was lacking fellowship. I would go to church, read my Bible, and pray but I was not stimulated. God made me a person who needs to share what He’s doing in my life and I need to hear your testimonies.

I finally saw what I was missing and asked God to give me a friend. Well, wouldn’t you know God gave me that friend? My flame has been getting brighter and brighter ever since. 2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? Find others who walk in the light and fuel each others’ flame.
